I am not sure how to get it to work when you are hosting, but this is what worked for me.Nuclear Throne (PS4) – Fallout was never like this I am playing with a controller and the way I got it to work was to just use your controller to get to the character you want to play as and leave your selection over the character you want to play as and have the other person hit start. I press everything in my controller & keyboard, but nothing happens :CCC The same thing happened to me. I pressed all my keyboard like an angry gorilla, and only that way I can play with my favorite character, Y.V, but I can't do that thing again.

I played the mod one time, my first time, exactly, and I was playing with my controller and when I was pressing A it autmatically directed me to Frog. At that point, it did let me play just fine with a random character. The only thing I could do was select random. which I also could not select by pushing 'A'. When I attempted to pick a character (eg Fish) by pressing 'A' it automatically directed me to Frog. I was not able to pick any character with the controller. I was only able to get it to work by plugging it in before starting the game. The controller will not work if you plug it in while the game is active.
